Ride Information
Three ride options are available. A 65 mile (Challenge Plus or metric century) route, a 50 mile (Challenge or half-century) and a 15 mile (Family friendly route from Cascade Locks to Bonneville Dam). All three of the breathtaking routes will begin from Cascade Locks Marine Park. Marine Park is set on the Columbia River and will be the start and end point for the ride no matter which route you choose.
Rider sign-in is at the Marine Park on July 1 from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM. Participants are required to sign our waiver and release form at rider sign-in. Riders under 18 years-of-age must be accompanied on the ride by a registered adult and their waiver and release form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Participants must wear an ANSI or Snell approved helmet.
Challenge Plus Route (65 mile loop):
This route begins along the scenic Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. The Trail is closed to all motorized vehicles on the state trail. Along this route you will pass by Bonneville Dam and Eagle Creek. Once to past Bonneville Dam, the route connects with the Historic Columbia River Highway via short section of closed Highway 84. From Ainsworth State Park you will be in the mist of the most gorgeous section of highway in the Gorge. You’ll be pedaling past notable falls, such as Horsetail Falls, Oneonta Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Latourell Falls, and of course, Multnomah Falls. The routes half way mark is high above the Columbia River Gorge at Crown Point Vista House. After the climb up to Crown Point, you’ll be able to rest, recharge and soak in the views before returning down the Historic Highway back to Cascade Locks. Once back to Cascade Locks, you can stop in at Marine Park for a rest before departing on the last leg of the route (the “Plus”). The “Plus” takes riders East of Cascade Locks out to Wyeth & Herman Creek Rd. This is the additional 15 mile leg after completing the initial Challenge route (50 mile). A total of 65 miles if you complete both Routes below.
Course opens at 7:00 AM for Challenge Plus Ride. All riders must start the 65 mile route before 8:00 AM.
